I was looking forward to Hanna’s senior portrait photo session at Veteran’s Acres park in Crystal Lake because we were combining it with a Bell family session. I really like it when families decide to do these combined shoots. We even took a few individual shots of Hanna’s little sister.

Veteran’s Acres park is a great location for early evening photo shoots as the light is soft and the setting is so luscious with trees and plants and the large pond.

After getting some shots at Veterans Acres, we headed over to the Ron McKinney Photography studio for some shots indoors. While I love working with natural light, especially the soft light in the early evening, I also love that I get to completely control the light in my studio. We also don’t have to worry about bugs or weather.

We took another family shot, and then focused again on Hanna. She was a dancer before getting injured, so we even threw in a toe touch for fun. We have several different looks at our studio, and we used them all for Hanna’s final shots. Take a look below at what we came up with.
