Nashville Ballet Photo Shoot on location

When I went down to Western Kentucky University to pick up my daughter from college in spring of 2021, we took a side trip to Nashville to do photo shoots with five dancers from the Nashville Ballet. It was a lot of fun, as I met with one at sunrise for a shoot against the Nashville skyline, and later that day, I did it again at sunset.

I shot twice at the park where the Parthenon is and that’s a wonderful building with immaculate columns to photograph.

it was also pretty special since I got to photograph Marissa Stark, her first photo shoot other than with her father, Chris Stark, who is an amazing dance photographer on the East Coast. On top of that, Marissa had just received word she was promoted to full company member with the Nashville Ballet.

On top of that, Lydia McRae had recently decided to retire from dancing, and this was likely her final dance shoot. The other dancers participating were Colette Tilinkski, Emily Ireland-Buczek, and Melanie Eilenstine.
