artistic outdoor dance
Outdoor dance photography is one of my favorite creative adventures. Whether I am working with a dance team, a high school, college or professional dancer, or a small group of dancers, we find amazing ways to use light, nature, architecture and dance.
Often, we meet at locations in the suburbs, but I also work in Chicago and travel out of town for creative portrait sessions. Dancers come to the Crystal Lake area to do sessions with me from several states away.
One of the main reasons to hire Ron as your dance photographer is his experience with dancers of all levels. He is fully capable of directing and collaborating with professional dancers and younger dancers. Ron and Beth founded Pas de Deux Photo, an online community of worldwide dance photographers, and they run workshops and annual conferences on dance photography. Ron has taught classes and led webinars on dance posing and terminology, lighting dancers in the studio, and on how to get the best poses from your dancers in on-location photo shoots.
A 2-hour session on location in the northwest suburbs is $150 for the session fee, and a minimum $300 print/JPG order. Single JPGs are $90 for social media JPGs printable to 5x7 inches or $120 for full resolution JPGs. For a session in downtown Chicago, the 2-hour session fee is $300 and there is a minimum $600 print/JPG order.
JPG PACKAGES
Our JPG packages for these artistic dance sessions start at:
5 social media JPGs for $405 (or $540 for full resolution) with a 10% discount, or;
10 social media JPGs for $720 (or $960 for full resolution) with a 20% discount for 10 or more JPGs.
You can add on additional JPGs to the packages above with the discounted prices. We also offer print packages.
Groups of dancers can share the costs of the session fee, and get the discount rates for JPG and print packages. I prefer to photograph during the last two hours before sunset, but I also do shoots throughout the day, depending on my schedule.
These can be individual sessions, siblings, groups or entire dance companies or schools. My session fees for these range from whether it’s one dancer to an entire group, but for one dancer it is $125 for a two-hour session on location within an hour of Crystal Lake. Downtown Chicago sessions are $250 for the session, and a minimum $550 order.
