Location: Anderson Japanese Garden in Rockford

I’ve been fortunate enough to do several shoots at the Japanese Garden in Rockford these last few years., so we have samples from a few shoots to look at here.

Their photography policy is a little uncertain. They often allow weekday shoots with no photography permit fee. I believe that is how I’ve done each of my shoots there. If you’re interested in a photo shoot there, let me know when you’d like to do it, and I’ll contact them to confirm their photography permit situation.

The garden opens on May 1 of each year. The foliage is wonderful there right up through early November. The Fall colors in late October or early November can be fabulous, but it’s always hard pinpoint weeks or months ahead of time when the fall colors will kick in.
