Location: Rockford

I have had the opportunity to do quite a few portrait sessions in Rockford. We have separate blogs for the Japanese Garden and Rock Cut State Park.

When I photograph in Rockford, I like to start across the river from downtown Rockford. It’s an interesting area with buildings, colorful art on pedestals and structures, the river as a backdrop, fountains, and an array of other interesting settings.

From there, we can go to a number of different locations. One thing that really attracts me are the abandoned building, and it’s like every street has one.
